A few posts ago, I mentioned that I was looking for a new book to give my husband for Father’s Day this year (i.e. a book that he and our 2 year old son could read together). I ordered the following from Amazon, and upon receiving it, I was so excited to find that it’s 100% what I was looking for:
As stated on the back cover of the book, “Daddies are a gift from God! Little Lion’s daddy is the best hero around…from scaring monsters away and fixing things to being his biggest fan and giving big Daddy squeezes! These whimsical rhymes and charming illustrations inspire children to thank God for all the ways their dad shows his love.”
This book shows the daddy and son dressed up in capes pretending to be superheroes together, the daddy measuring the son against a tree (a lion’s version of a “growth chart”), the daddy “fixing” things that were broken, the daddy and son praying together, etc. It’s a precious book that talks about how the father wants to teach the son to be “kind and good”, how he cheers the son on to “do his best,” how the daddy asks God questions and how God answers him, and so on.
A perfect Father’s Day gift…if you do two-day shipping, you can still get it in time.
