I’ve found these great little mealtime devotionals that are FREE on the Focus on the Family website. They are perfect for busy families (like us!) where dinnertime may be a good opportunity to try and sneak in a family devotional while everyone is sitting still for a minute (it seems rare for our three year old to sit still UNLESS he is at the dinner table!!!)
I’ve skimmed through many of them and they are great for families with young ones. These aren’t lengthy devotions – they’re just perfect for “table talk.” If you already have a daily devotion plan for your young ones, this can just be one more way of incorporating God into your day or week – the more we can teach them and sow into their hearts at a young age, the better!!!
My understanding is that there are many of these devotionals (over 150 or so?) included in a book, but that Focus on the Family has offered 52 of them for free on its website (one for every week of the year). We just started a new year – perfect timing to look into these!!!!
You can more information about these mealtime devotionals as well as the links to the 52 free devotions on the Focus on the Family website site link below:
Enjoy! May we all make the most of our “mealtime moments” – every moment counts (the following verse is Deuteronomy 6:6-9):
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
